Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be permanent in the Mental Health Program Specialist 1 title, OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 18 level. Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Mental Health Program Specialist 1, G-18 position in the Division of State Operations Children’s and Adult Services, Civil Reintegration Unit.

Under the guidance of a Mental Health Program Specialist 2, the duties of the incumbent will include, but not be limited to:

• Support the role of the Civil Reintegration Unit in monitoring the safe discharge of individuals leaving State Psychiatric Centers who have a history of involvement in the Forensic System or otherwise identified as high risk.
• Maintain databases such as tracking psychiatric center census, designations, and incidents.
• Participate in the identification and support of best practices for the treatment of high risk individuals and those with forensic histories.
• Coordinate educational opportunities and trainings to support staff and community members.
• Support the Workplace Violence Prevention Liaison, becoming well versed in Workplace Violence Prevention Law and activities and providing technical assistance.
• Provide support for Special Projects in State Operations.
