Minimum Qualifications This is a transfer opportunity for an 18-month traineeship leading to a CSEA grade 9. Transfer eligible must have current permanent or contingent permanent status as an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), LDDS Trainee, or LDDS.

CANDIDATE MAY BE REQUIRED TO TAKE AND PASS A TYPING PERFORMANCE TEST.
Duties Description This position is located in our Rochester Regional Office:
•Type correspondence, legal documents, records and other written material from using handwritten rough drafts, marked copy and/or recording or data from various sources.
•Proofread documents for correct legal terminology, context, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
•Oversee case files and office records for Claims and Notice of Intentions (NI) for the AAGs and Investigator, by preparing and opening them in OAG databases (e.g., SilverCase) and forwarding the files to the required staff.
•Verify Claims/NI.
•Log in/out pleadings being served.
•Assist AAG’s with copying, scanning, faxing, and collating documents including motions, exhibits, discovery, etc.
•Open/Close files for the Charities AAG and other staff. This includes filing closed cases using the OAG’s paper archives management system (PAM) as needed.
•File documents at the Clerk’s office and or Court as directed by assigned AAG.
•Keep records calendars to meet court-specified deadlines for document filing.
•Responsible for answering the telephone and directing phone calls to the appropriate staff. This includes answering questions concerning Consumer Frauds and directing the caller to the proper agency or send complaint forms/brochures. Check Bureau voice mail and return calls as necessary.
•Attend to window patrons and if necessary direct them to the proper agency or assist with complaint forms/brochures.
•Check in deliveries, sort and distribute mail for both OAG and Medicaid staff.
•Responsible for oversight of conference room calendars and is the holder of the video conference room key.
•Receive Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) Directives via email and save to DOCCS folder in directory.
•Perform work as assigned in relation to Mental Hygiene procedures.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
