Minimum Qualifications 1. Must currently be a permanent Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4.
OR
2. Must be active and reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4.
OR
3. Must be eligible for 52.6 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Developmental Disabilities
Program Specialist 4 by the New York State Department of Civil Service.
OR
4. Qualified for provisional* appointment.

Duties Description ? The DDPS4 for Community Support Services will directly supervise several teams in the Regional Office. These teams oversee the functions of Community funding, Individualized Service supports(including self-direction and non-certified housing), Development team which monitors property development of Certified homes, Certified Residential Opportunities (CRO) Team, the Eligibility Team and a Clinical Management team and related services inclusive of Family Support Service supports.
? Will assist in the oversight for the coordination of services within each of these teams and oversee development of process from these teams that network with and support OPWDD Front Door service delivery teams for all counties.
? Monitor the process for new initiatives related to OPWDD transformation Agenda inclusive of Voluntary Agency Reinvestment, ICF transition, CRO process, Money Follows The Person, Self Direction, FIDA Initiative and other agency initiatives.
? Responsible for the coordination of projects that are District Wide with collaboration with processes that are consistent with region wide and/or state wide protocols: i.e. the CRO processes, Self Directed Services, and other areas as defined.
? Oversee and assure the appropriate planning of the approximately 25 individuals who age out of residential schools annually as well as statewide populations that are prioritized for placement.
? Oversee and assure the appropriate planning for individuals who are moving from Developmental Centers and returning to live in the community assuring appropriate monitoring of MFP and related initiatives.
? Oversee and assure the appropriate planning for process to support individuals using various levels of self-directed supports and services.
? Will assist to oversee the base allocation and new allocation of funds from new spending plans and oversee processes for implementation. This includes the oversight of new development, the expansions and relocations of existing supports for day services, residential services, and at home supports as well as other supports for the 523 voluntary operated certified sites in the HVDDSO district to assure compliance with the procedures required by the Office of State Comptroller.
? Oversee tracking of Voluntary agency levels of units assistive support prices and/or contracts related to OPWDD waiver services as required.
? Participate as a team member in the planning and organization of the Hudson Valley Management Team for the Regional Office and as part of the greater Region 3 management team. (Hudson valley, Taconic, Capital)
? Coordinate HVDDSO participation in the annual Local Government Planning process.
? Work with about 79 voluntary agencies in the HVDDSO catchment area to assure the provision of quality services.
? Act as a resource for services for the families of the 1.5 million people in the HVDDSO catchment area to assure that people with disabilities live richer lives.
? Serve as Administrator on call on a rotational basis.
? Other duties as assigned.
