Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Duties Description Responsibilities include: operating equipment in the process of maintaining and rehabilitating the Region's infrastructure. Maintenance Assistants perform routine repetitive maintenance, installation and repair tasks in one or a combination of the mechanical, building construction, motor equipment and electrical trades. Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, tractors, front-end loaders, etc.; operate light self-propelled equipment such as power mowers, chainsaws, power saws, etc.; perform a variety of tasks utilizing power and manual hand tools including saws, hammers, drills, sanders, etc.; and will be required to perform a variety of construction trades including masonry, carpentry and electrical.

Additional Comments This is a temporary appointment with a duration of 6/30/16 - 3/31/17.

Work days and hours will be discussed at interview. Work hours are generally 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
