Minimum Qualifications You must hold or have held the title of Secretary 1 or be reachable on the full-time NYS Civil Service list.
Employees in specific salary grade 9 titles may be eligible to apply via a 70.1 transfer as well (2 salary grade jump). Duties Description Duties include but are not limited to: Answer routine faculty/student/parent/staff inquiries (by phone, email, and in person) and obtain answers when they are not known or readily available. Maintain all School of Education student files. Check student academic records on Banner and Banner Client as requested by the Associate Dean. Keep skills up-to-date with Banner, Microsoft Office Programs, and On Base systems. Update and record data that is needed for reports.

Provide support for biweekly Teacher Education Candidate Review Committee (TECRC) meetings by:
- Attending all meetings of TECRC
- Developing agendas and keeping minutes of all TECRC meetings
- Completing all committee correspondence with students and faculty
- Organize all files and materials related to TECRC

Process degree audits for graduating undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education.

Support Associate Dean in processing selected studies proposals and in the coordination of the Australian Student Teaching Program.

Assist the Associate Dean by getting materials ready for decision-making processes regarding: academic decisions, TECRC, student meetings, and meetings with faculty and staff. Prepare letters and emails to students, including mid-semester warning letters, contract probation letters, academic suspension and dismissal letters, and TECRC letters.

Process student academic forms such as change of major, drop/add, course and college withdrawal, leave of absence, and other routine forms. Maintain the Associate Dean's calendar, scheduling student appointments and committee meetings. Handle and answer routine correspondences and prepare letters and travel forms for Associate Dean.

Work closely with other departments and offices across campus and with students and parents. Act as the receptionist for the School of Education Dean's Office. Work collaboratively with the Dean and the Dean's Secretary, and with other support staff in the School of Education. Support the work of the Dean in the absence of the Dean's Secretary. Maintain inventory and order office supplies and place service calls for office equipment. Remain familiar with college processes related to course registration and student conduct. Good written and communication skills.
