Salary RangeFrom $42555 to $51830 Annually
Minimum Qualifications This position is open to current NYS employees who have either completed one year of permanent competitive service in the Administrative Aide title and to those eligible for 70.1 transfer into this title from titles such as Accountant Aide or Administrative Program Aide OR those reachable on the Civil Service (CS) eligible list for this title. You need not apply if you are currently on the CS eligible list as we are canvassing the list.
Duties Description Under the direction of the HR Director or HR Specialist 2, the incumbent will function as a paraprofessional, performing a wide variety of administrative activities to support the work of the HR Director, HR staff, and Training & Development staff in the Human Resources Office.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Creates and maintains hire and separation folders and updates checklists within the folders.
• Obtains biweekly clearance control numbers to coincide with upcoming appointment transactions.
• Submits and checks the status of hiring freeze waivers.
• Runs NYSTEP reports on a biweekly basis for appointment end dates, position end dates and other reports.
• Updates HR databases on a biweekly basis based on payroll transactions.
• Drafts employment letters and other correspondence as requested.
• Prepares probationary report memos; maintains probationary report log; issues reminders to supervisors.
• Tracks performance evaluations and issues reminders to supervisors.
• Assists in position classification activities by compiling and preparing transmittal correspondence.
• Canvasses eligible lists via the Civil Service Eligible List Management System (ELMS), organizes canvass responses, and codes and returns eligible lists.
• Organizes new employee orientation.
• Compiles background information for grievance and disciplinary hearings.
• Makes travel arrangements for HR and Training staff and processes expenses and reimbursements incurred for travel in SFS.
• Coordinates and schedules meetings and/or training with participants.
• Assists in compiling data and coordinating training materials for the Training Specialist 2.
• Assists the Training Specialist 2 in the administrator role of the Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS)
