Minimum Qualifications Teacher 2: Current NYS Education Department provisional/initial certification in classroom teaching the appropriate specialty.
Teacher 3: Current NYS Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching the appropriate specialty.
Teacher 4: Current NYS Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching the appropriate specialty and two years of post-certification (provisional/initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.
Duties Description Instruct in an academic discipline, as recognized by the NYS Education Department. Prepare or modify curriculum course outlines. Prepare daily or weekly lesson plans. Conduct a schedule of formal instruction for client learner of a state agency. Devise methods, conduct evaluations of the performance progress of leaners. Make plans for teaching assignments consistent with course objectives. Instruction is typically individualized as learners are usually performing at different stages in a course. Maintain control in the class and, if necessary, request assistance following prescribed facility policy. Evaluate learners performance and progress in class. Display enthusiasm for the subject, motivate, arouse interest and stimulate the participation of each learner.
Additional Comments Salary grade 13-17 based on qualifications.
