Those applying under this option must complete and submit a Form NYS-APP , application for New York State Examination.

Note: Permanent service in a traineeship leading to the source title may be counted toward the one year permanent service requirement for voluntary transfers, therefore, candidates who have successfully completed a traineeship and advanced to the journey level may transfer without the full year at the journey level provided all other conditions for transfer are met.



Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
• Oversight of employee organization leave activities.
• Perform fact finding for grievances.
• Conduct investigations for disciplinary matters.
• Assist Human Resource Specialists with disciplinary meetings and arbitrations.
• Provide guidance and advice to supervisors and managers on how to coach, mentor and counsel employees.
• Attend and participate in local labor management committees including Employee Assistance Program (EAP) meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience creating and using spreadsheets.
• Strong research skills.
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
