Minimum Qualifications CANDIDATES MUST HAVE ONE YEAR OF PERMANENT COMPETITIVE OR 55B/C SERVICE AS A SENIOR BUDGETING ANALYST OR IN A TITLE SG-16 OR ABOVE ELIGIBLE FOR TRANSFER UNDER SECTIONS 52.6 OR 70.1 OF THE CIVIL SERVICE LAW OR BE REACHABLE ON THE PROFESSIONAL CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES (PCO) ELIGIBLE LIST OR BE REACHABLE ON THE OAG DEPARTMENT’S PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION TRAINEE TRANSITION (PATT) ELIGIBLE LIST. APPOINTEES FROM THE PCO OR PATT LIST MUST SERVE A TWO-YEAR TRAINEESHIP THAT LEADS TO THE GRADE 18 SALARY LEVEL.
Duties Description Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Financial Administration in the Budget and Fiscal Management Bureau, the incumbent for this position shall perform a variety of budget related duties, including, but not limited to:
•Preparing statistical, narrative or analytical reports for both agency expenditures and revenue receipts utilizing Microsoft Office products;
•Interaction between various internal bureaus to: review, recommend, approve and monitor allowable expenses;
•Retrieving, analyzing and presenting information from the Statewide Financial System;
•Assistance with the preparation and presentation of agency budget recommendations to the Executive level as well as the Division of Budget staff;
•Reviewing, evaluating, comparing prior years expenditures to the current year and forecasting for future years;
•Reviewing and analyzing new legislation; new and proposed changes to existing programs and presentation of information relating to their fiscal impact;
•Preparation of budget transfers and interchange journals;
•Preparation of general ledger journals for quarterly client billing, miscellaneous offsets and potential mischarges;
•Developing and revising operating procedures; and
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments Travel and mandatory OT minimal if not rare occurrence.
