Minimum Qualifications Provisional:
Open-Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
Five years of field experience testing, calibrating, repairing, and modifying combustion control and instrumentation systems in heating plants utilizing either steam boilers operating at one hundred pounds per square inch gauge (psig) or higher or hot water boilers operating at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

Duties Description • Calibration, operation and maintenance of combustion controls, instrumentation, boilers, burners, and auxiliary equipment.
• Complete inspections, monitoring, reporting, diagnostics and repair of all combustion, auxiliary, and other plant controls.
• Computer programming of boiler applications, plant applications, variable frequency drive applications, and auxiliary environmental control applications that are critical to the agency’s mission and in compliance with Department of Environmental Conservation’s air permits.
• Provide recommendations and training in the operation and maintenance of the OGS Power Plants.

Additional Comments Operating Needs:
Asbestos Supervisor certification required within 90 days of appointment as well as compliance with all related PESH/OSHA regulations.

Note:
Utilities Management is a 24/7 operation, thus night, weekend, and holiday work is required based on operational need.
