Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year-basis. This position also requires a valid NY State driver's license.

Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
The incumbent will perform journey-level work in HVAC maintenance, and skilled and semiskilled level work in a combination of other trades in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Specific duties include:

HVAC Maintenance
EPA universal refrigerant certification, experience with preventive maintenance
programs for HVAC equipment, experience with building management systems.
Experience in maintenance and repair of:
Walk in coolers
Ice machines
Deli coolers
Drinking fountains
Air handling units
Induction units with hot and cold feeds
VAV boxes
Pneumatic and electric actuators, valves and controls
Chillers and chilled water systems
Open and closed loop cooling towers
Water treatment
Boilers and hot water systems
Air compressors
Single and three phase power
Variable frequency drives
Computer room CRAC units
Perimeter fin tube systems

Painting
Prepare surfaces to receive paint and repair surfaces using spackling and putty prior to painting.
Replace putty around windows and replace glass.
Paint surface using brush, roller and/or spray.

Carpentry
Finish carpentry including doors, cabinetry, paneling, counter tops, partitions including,sheet rock, taping, and spackling.

Plumbing
Repair of toilets, sinks, dishwashers, hot water heater, and faucets.
Installing dishwashers, sinks, hot water heaters and other plumbing fixtures.

Electrical
Install power and lighting circuits, run wire, install outlets, and switches.
Wire and repair appliances including replacing motors, circuits, and timers. - Computer and telecommunications cable installation and maintenance.

Masonry
Repair or replace interior plaster and sheet rock walls, and tile on walls or floors.

Miscellaneous Trades
Carpeting, furniture, glass.

Outdoor Maintenance
Use of light and heavy equipment for landscaping and snow removal.
