Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for appointment, candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The incumbent will be assigned responsibility for one or more units of the Contract Management Bureau including supervision and training of Contract Management Specialist 1’s, administrative and/or clerical staff.
Duties may include but not be limited to:
• Acquisition of design-build contracts and best value construction contracts and/or oversight of contractor prequalification;
• Selection of professional firms to provide the Department with consultant engineering services;
• Acquisition of other non-engineering professional services or construction contracts;
• Negotiating the cost aspects of consultant services contracts, performing pre-award evaluations of firms proposing to do business with the Department, and/or oversight of local and miscellaneous agreements.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
