Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a lateral transfer or eligible for a 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in an appropriate title. Appropriate titles include but are not limited to:

Office Assistant 1, SG-6*
Office Assistant 1 (Calculations), SG-6*
Office Assistant 1 (Spanish Language), SG-6*
Office Assistant 1 (Customer Service), SG-6*
Office Assistant 1 (Customer Service Spanish Language), SG-6*
Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding Spanish Language), SG-6*

*In addition, candidates must be able to type at the rate of 35 words per minute corrected. Candidates must either provide documentation of their typing skills or pass a performance test before being considered for appointment.

ELIGIBLE LIST: Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for the Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) in Albany. Candidates who are currently on the eligible list for the Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) in Albany need not submit an application for this posting unless they are applying directly as a result of the transfer qualifications listed above.

Duties Description Duties of this position will include but will not be limited to:

• Prepare correspondance for Bureau of Housing and Support Services (BHSS) staff;
• Review and record reimbursement requests;
• Schedule & Coordinate meetings for professional staff;
• Maintain calendars;
• Receive, record, and refer incoming correspondence and telephone calls;
• Create and maintain entries in the BHSS’s Voucher Log;
• Scan and upload files to BHSS’s Access database;
• Perform other support duties, as assigned.

Additional Comments A full-time, permanent appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
