Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have permanent status as a Secretary 1, Grade 11, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Candidates who are not transferring from a keyboarding title must possess adequate keyboarding skills (i.e., the ability to type 35 words per minute corrected) as demonstrated by passing the Keyboard Specialist performance test. Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Secretary 1, G-11 position in the Office of Financial Management, State Operations Finance Group, Operations Support Unit. The Operations Support Unit (OSU) plays a key role in assisting OMH Patient Resource Offices (PROs) establish and maintain Medicaid eligibility and billing accounts for OMH inpatients, residents of State-operated Community Residences, and Pre-paid Mental Health Plan enrollees. The OSU provides training and technical assistance regarding State and Federal benefit programs to PROs and other units within OMH.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Respond to incoming calls and refer calls to appropriate staff member for technical information.
• Arrange and coordinate staff meetings.
• Prepare correspondence from draft documents. Distribute and retain copies utilizing both
manual and electronic methods.
• Prepare training materials, directives, and manual revisions using desk top publishing, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, and faxing.
• Receive, date stamp, and distribute mail and faxes for the Operations Support Unit.
