Minimum Qualifications Two years experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers and/or auxiliary equipment or HVAC equipment in commercial, industrial, or institutional facility and an associate's degree in Plant Utilities Technology. Major course of study must include a minimum of 30 semester hours in any combination of:

-Blueprint Reading and Sketching

OR thirty college semester credit hours in core curriculum courses creditable toward an associate's degree in Plant Utilities Technology; Four years experience as described above, completion of State DOL Apprenticeship for Stationary Engineers, Plant Maintenance (Plumber/Steamfitter or Refrigeration/Air Conditioning); Possession of Stationary Engineer or Boiler License. Or a bachelors degree (from SUNY Maritime College) in Facilities Engineering.

Duties Description Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test and calibrate mechanical and electrical equipment providing heat, hot water, ventilation, a/c and electrical distribution in a safe and efficient manner. Make recommendations on major overhauls and replacement of equipment and identify, recommend and develop energy conservation projects, supervise subordinate staff in the operation and maintenance of heating facilities and mechanical equipment. You may supervise subordinates in the operation and maintenance of heating facilities and mechanical equipment.
