Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this position. You must be physically able to perform the duties assigned. Candidate must have valid driver's license. Candidate must also be able to work in adverse weather conditions, be able to work in remote areas and negotiate difficult terrain.

Duties Description The NYSDEC Bureau of Wildlife in the Cortland office is seeking two laborers to assist with habitat work. Successful applicants will work to clear approximately 5 acres of brush at Cicero Swamp Wildlife Management Area.

Work will be completed using Stihl brush cutting saws. Work may also include the use of chainsaws if suitably trained and certified. Applicants will need to be able to work in a remote area and endure long hours of physically-demanding work under winter conditions. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Knowledge of GPS, snowmobiles and troubleshooting small engines or machinery is a plus.

Additional Comments Seasonal, hourly appointment currently funded from 10/1/16 through 3/31/2017.
