Minimum Qualifications This will be an exempt appointment. The incumbent will be designated as a peace officer and must be a United States citizen, reside in New York State and maintain New York State residency during employment, as well as meet all other requirements related to peace officer status. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of ten years of law enforcement experience, with at least five years experience in conducting white collar crime and complex financial fraud investigations; an understanding of law enforcement agencies throughout the country; the ability to analyze criminal history reports; the ability to conduct research, investigative interviews and prepare written memoranda detailing the results; at least five years experience in conducting confidential Internal Affairs Investigations, including staff misconduct; the ability to analyze financial documents and filings, including mortgage records; and possess excellent presentation, organization, writing, telephone and computer skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets.

Duties Description The Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates who are highly experienced professionals to work in our investigations unit which specializes in investigating possible criminal activities in our regulated financial entities and performing complicated administrative agency-directed investigations. This may involve travel and undercover operations for extended periods and irregular hours, including weekends.
