Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive service in the Administrative Assistant title or eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

For appointment to a two year traineeship leading to Administrative Assistant, SG-18: Reachable for appointment from the current Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list #20-140.

Duties Description Under the direction of Counsel, the Administrative Assistant or Trainee will perform duties including, but not limited to the following:

• Provide administrative support for the Schenectady and New York City legal offices.
• Manage personnel activities for Counsel’s Office including recruitment, interviewing, and performance programs.
• Maintain tracking systems, calendars, and reporting systems utilizing Microsoft Office.
• Assist the Gaming Commission’s Ethics Officer with administering various areas of responsibility assumed with Ethics Agency Oversight.
• Manage records and follow records retention protocol.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies by coordinating with various units within the Commission, contractors, and other entities.
• Manage resources by making appropriate use of fiscal and physical resources in completing projects.
• Serve as coordinator for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) training for attorneys.
• Serve as Counsel’s coordinator for Web-ex for teleconferencing, training, and legal proceedings.

Additional Comments Appointment will be contingent upon completion of a fingerprint background check before an official appointment offer can be made.
