Preferred Qualifications
•Previous administrative or call center experience.
•Previous experience in an admissions environment.
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
•Fluency in Spanish or Chinese.

Duties Description The State University of New York System Administration, located in Albany, NY is searching for three temporary employees for the positions of Recruitment Response Telecounselor. These positions are the frontline contact for all prospective applicants inquiring about the educational opportunities available at SUNY campuses and SUNY’s admissions procedures. These positions will also have contact with parents, high school counselors and individual Campus Admissions Departments in the course of providing service and information to prospective applicants.

Responsibilities
•Provide information about SUNY’s educational offerings to prospective applicants, their parents and high school counselors via e-mail, phone and chat.
•Communicate the SUNY application process to prospective applicants, their parents and high school counselors via e-mail, phone and chat.
•Provide technical support for SUNY’s online application for admission.
•Advise applicants of the status of pending applications.
•Resolve problems with incomplete applications. Provide information necessary to complete application forms, financial aid forms or other supplemental documentation.
•Conduct outgoing customer service calls on a project basis.
•Accurately enter and update records of prospective applicants in an inquiry management database.
•Enter data from inquiry cards into an inquiry management database.
•Fulfill requests for admissions literature. Create and mail correspondence and information packets.

Additional Comments Note: These temporary positions have been approved for a duration of 6 months.
