Minimum Qualifications TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
70.1 Transfer: An Employee with one year of permanent competitive service in a title allocated to Grade 9 or higher may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
In addition, keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement of this position. If you have not previously held a keyboarding position, you must demonstrate that you possess the requisite keyboarding skills.
Duties Description As a Secretary 1 you would be responsible for providing administrative support in an office. You would establish and implement procedures to maintain an efficient work flow; relive an official of a variety of routine office details; and perform responsible clerical work. You would also screen and refer telephone calls to the appropriate staff; examine daily mail and personally handle routine correspondence by preparing replies or collecting information for your supervisor’s use in replying; and keep office records and files using a variety of software. You would be responsible for the preparation of a variety of documents, databases, and correspondence.
