Minimum Qualifications TRANSFER CANDIDATES One year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 OR in a position at G-16 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a position approved for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Candidates reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title will be considered through a canvass and do not need to apply to this vacancy posting.
Duties Description The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 2 to work within our Application Development section. Under the supervision of an Information Technology Specialist 3, the incumbent of this position will work with significant independence while utilizing various technologies to meet the business needs of the agency.
DUTIES:
• Maintain and support custom internal applications
built with Oracle Forms, Reports and Designer.
• Assist in transitioning existing legacy applications to
more modern technologies, such as Siebel, PeopleSoft and
Web Center.
• Create complex PL/SQL objects and SQL queries to
extract data and meet user specifications.
• Assist in other software development efforts as necessary.
• Interact with end-users and other IT staff to troubleshoot problems. Assist with user training and support. Develop and/or modify application technical and end-user documentation.
• Develop and implement test plans for new or upgraded systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in Oracle Forms, Reports and Designer.
• Experience working with a Relational DBMS, preferably Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience developing web-based applications or pages using Java, HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
• Experience developing or maintaining Siebel or PeopleSoft applications
• Experience interacting with end users in a user support role.
