Minimum Qualifications For Vocational Instructor 2/SG13: Must have 6 credit hours toward New York State Teaching Certification for teaching Electrical Trades and either 4 years trade experience or an Associate's Degree appropriate to teaching Electrical Trades and 2 years experience or a Bachelor's Degree appropriate to reaching Electrical Trades and 1 year experience. For Vocational Instructor 3/SG15: Must have possession of a valid initial or provisional New York State Certification for teaching Electrical Trades. For Vocational Instructor 4/SG7: Must have possession of a permanent teaching certificate for teaching Electrical Trades and 2 years experience.
Duties Description Provide training for 34 inmates to enable them to meet their mandatory program need. The instruction will be from the course profile along with the opportunity for advanced students doing the NCCER program and a possibility to enroll in the New York State Department of Labor apprenticeship program along with classroom training participation on live work projects for the facility.

Vocational Instructor 3 - S/G15: $45,257 - $57,697.
Vocational Instructor 4 - S/G17: $50,478 - $64,260.
