Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The incumbent of this position will perform paraprofessional activities in a staff administrative capacity in such areas as personnel, training, budgeting, purchasing, administrative analysis, and/or general administration. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist in carrying out the Accident Damage Recovery (ADR) Program. Enter data into the database for collection. Draft last attempt letter or referral to the Attorney General’s Office. Update the data base with the following information: payment received; partial payment; closed, statute of limitations. Scan documents. Consult with the region to determine the status of a case. Answer telephone inquiries. Transmit checks received by the Division to the Revenue Unit. Maintain the files for the ADR program.
• Handle projects involving independent preparation of written materials and reports, analysis of information, presentation of information and formulation of recommendations based upon analysis of data.
• Prepare material for agency manuals, prepare correspondence and memoranda, transmit information, conduct routine desk audits, organize and prepare duties descriptions, compile and review budget data, etc.
• Prepare routine correspondence; collect and analyze data; assist in the preparation, review, and evaluation of a variety of reports and records; provide guidance on compliance with agency rules and regulations.
• Communicate, orally or in writing, with program staff, agency staff, staff of other local, State and federal agencies, and members of the public regarding matters being handled by the Department.
• Obtain statements, missing information or documents.
• Work under the supervision of claims engineers and attorneys. Apply various State and federal laws, procedures, rules, regulations and guidelines that require interpretation.
