Minimum Qualifications Qualifications:

Admission to the Bar of the State of New York and at least eight years of experience in the practice of law involving civil or criminal litigation and/or regulatory work. Experience as a federal or state criminal or civil prosecutor is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should possess developed leadership acumen, organizational skills and the ability to manage staff engaged in conducting large and complex investigations.

Duties Description The Department of Financial Services is seeking a Deputy Superintendent for Enforcement to help guide the Department's enforcement actions to ensure that regulated parties are held accountable for unlawful business practices.

Under the direction of the Executive Deputy Superintendent for Enforcement, the Deputy Superintendent serves as the second-in-command of the Department’s Enforcement Unit, ensuring that the Executive Deputy Superintendent’s vision and leadership for the agency’s enforcement activities are implemented. The Deputy Superintendent handles the daily management of the unit’s activities, assists with the oversight of enforcement actions, and coordinates with other senior staff and law enforcement agencies.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Overseeing the day-to-day management of investigations.
• Participating with the Executive Deputy Superintendent in formulating policies regarding enforcement activities and actions.
• Assisting in the development of strategic and operational planning activities for the Enforcement Unit.
• Reviewing policy determinations for the impact on the Department’s enforcement operations and making recommendations to the Executive Deputy Superintendent.
• Keeping current with trends and issues in the financial and/or enforcement industry, including current technologies and best-practices.
