Reassignment Qualifications: An employee with one year permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 3 (Calculations), Grade 14 is eligible for reassignment to any location where a vacancy exists in the title.
An employee with less than one year permanent competitive service is eligible for reassignment to a different geographic location only if the employee is reachable for appointment in the new location.
Transfer Qualifications: An employee with one year permanent competitive service in an Accountant Aide, Administrative Aide, Agency Program Aide, Head Mail and Supply Clerk, Keyboard Specialist 3, Legal Assistant 1, Office Assistant 3 * - title change from Principal Clerk and Principal File Clerk, Office Assistant 3 (Calculations) - title change from Principal Account Clerk, Principal Statistics Clerk and Purchasing Assistant 2, Office Assistant 3 (HR) - title change from Principal Clerk (Personnel), Payroll Examiner 1, Payroll Examiner 2, Principal Data Entry Machine Operator, Principal Employment Security Clerk, Secretary 2 or Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiner is eligible to apply.
Duties Description Standard Duties: As an Office Assistant 3 (Calculations) you would be responsible for supervising clerical staff engaged in the maintenance of accounts and financial records using automated and manual financial systems. You would evaluate, process and approve payment transactions in the Statewide Financial System. You would ensure that procedures are followed and processes are performed in conformity with Department policy and the Comptroller’s rules and regulations. You would also provide advice to, and otherwise assist, supervisors in planning, organizing, scheduling and coordinating work operations and work procedures; respond to inquiries from other units or agencies or concerning the operations of the section in writing or by telephone; and insure that staff is adequately trained.
