Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint).

Duties Description The Bureau of Supplemental Food Programs (BSFP), Food Delivery and Vendor Management Section (FDVMS) is currently recruiting to fill two (2) vacant Health Program Administrator positions. These positions are located in the New York State Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). The FDVMS is responsible for all WIC food and vendor management activities including but not limited to identification of approved WIC foods, food card development, vendor applications, monitoring access to meet participant needs, and WIC banking activities including the conversion of WIC paper checks to an electronic benefits card by 2020.

These HPA positions will be responsible for the interpretation of Federal regulations and program policies related to the WIC Program, acting as a liaison with WIC vendors, contractors, professional associations and various WIC Stakeholders. They will participate and/or lead teams for ongoing projects within the Section and Bureau-wide work groups related to the implementation of NYWIC, the program’s new web-based automated system and eWIC, WICs new electronic benefits card process. The incumbents will assist with creating and revising vendor policies and procedures to align with NYWIC/eWIC processes; review and analyze data in accordance with federal cost containment guidelines and prepare written and verbal communication for various target audiences, prepare written materials that may include memos, training material, PowerPoint presentations, Communiqués, and WIC Watch articles. Verbal communication may include technical assistance and conducting presentations.

Additional Comments Permanent or contingent-permanent, full-time. Occasional Statewide travel, including overnights and travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation, is required.
