Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employees with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Senior Auditor; OR current New York State employees with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 13 and above and eligible for transfer under 70.1 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law. Successful completion of two year traineeship leads to appointment as a Senior Auditor, SG-18.

Duties Description The Fiscal Monitoring Unit is responsible for fiscally monitoring federal funding which helps the State to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate all hazards. Under the supervision of an Associate Auditor, the Senior Auditor duties include fiscal monitoring of grantees receiving federal Homeland Security and disaster funds. Fiscal monitoring responsibilities include documentation review; on-site visits; review of grantee audit reports; as well as providing technical assistance to grantees on financial reporting requirements and contract compliance.
Notes:
Approximately 40% travel is required consisting of day and overnight travel; previous audit or monitoring experience and strong writing skills are preferred. The applicant must demonstrate their capacity to meet the travel requirements of the job. Candidates should possess the ability to speak comfortably with various group sizes and levels of professionals.
