Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service as a Hearing Officer, OR one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Admission to the New York State Bar and current registration to practice law in New York State is necessary for continued employment. Disbarment or loss of registration shall result in termination or suspension of employment.

Duties Description Preside at quasi-judicial or administrative hearings which are of an adversarial or investigative nature concerning the resolution of issues of fact, law and regulatory practice.

Conduct hearings, issue subpoenas, and evaluate evidence.

Make findings of fact and conclusions of law.

Render or recommend decisions.

Additional duties will be discussed in greater detail during the interview.
