Minimum Qualifications Candidates who are reachable on the current Civil Service List, have one year of permanent competitive service as an Stores and Mail Operations Supervisor, or one year of permanent competitive service in an office assistant, clerical, secretarial or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 10 or higher may be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The incumbent will perform a variety of supervisory related duties in a warehouse setting, including but not limited to:
• Supervise a staff of Office Assistants and Laborers in the performance of office support and clerical work, or manual labor, related to storing, receiving, and distributing goods, materials, documents, or other property
• Code monthly supply orders for state and county offices
• Handle general correspondence and requests from state and private facilities regarding DMV records and materials
• Train new staff
• Supervise the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods and documents in a warehouse environment. Identifying the goods received against documentation
• Assign subordinate staff to move goods at the facility by motor vehicle or through other means
• Some lifting is required; Along with use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts. Prior use of forklifts is helpful, but not required as training will be provided
• Ensure that orders are completed in accordance with the delivery schedule and are shipped to the proper locations statewide
• Assign and reassign work to subordinate staff and schedule daily work to ensure adequate coverage

Additional Comments Regular hours and potential overtime hours will be discussed further at the time of interview. The staff in DMV’s Warehouse works in a team setting. Every employee is expected to exhibit professionalism through a consistent commitment to the development and maintenance of excellent work relationships with others, including DMV employees and staff from driving schools and other entities. Successful candidates must be able to work well independently, in a team environment and with others; have good critical thinking and problem solving skills; possess excellent organizational skills; have excellent oral and written communication skills; be detail oriented; be able to handle multiple competing priorities; and be able to identify/resolve problems as they arise.
