Minimum Qualifications PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Department of Labor employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service in title of Law Department Document Specialist Trainee 1 or Trainee 2, Office Assistant 1( Keyboarding), Grade 6 (title formerly known as Keyboard Specialist 1), Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding (Chinese Language), Grade 6 (title formerly known as Keyboard Specialist 1-Chinese Language), or Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding (Spanish Language), Grade 6 (title formerly known as Keyboard Specialist 1-Spanish language).
TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title such as: Business Services Center Representative, Law Document Specialist, Licensing Services Clerk, Motor Vehicle Representative, Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 (Spanish Language), Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), Office Assistant 2 (Calculations Chinese Language), Office Assistant 2 (Customer Service), Office Assistant 2 (Customer Service Spanish Language), Office Assistant 2 (Customer Service Chinese Language), Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), Secretary 1, Secretary 1 (Spanish Language), Senior Employment Security Clerk, Senior Employment Security Clerk (Spanish Language), and Senior Employment Security Clerk (Chinese Language).
In addition, keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement of this position. If you have not previously held a keyboarding position, you must demonstrate that you possess the requisite keyboarding skills.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: As an Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), you would provide assistance with office clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, documents, records and other written material, assist with gathering and compiling data for reports, and perform clerical and office support activities such as processing applications, requests, and inquiries, filing, database entry and maintenance, server maintenance and backup, handling phone calls, office supply ordering, and office mail.
Additional Comments Appointment type will be Contingent-permanent, otherwise the appointment will be provisional pending examination.
