70.4 Transfer Qualifications: You may be eligible for Section 70.4 transfer if you have: (1) one year of permanent competitive service as a grade 12 or higher; and (2) a bachelor’s degree, including or supplemented by 24 credit hours in accounting and/or auditing coursework; and (3) passed the Professional Careers in Accounting and Auditing exam. Depending on your level of professional accounting/auditing experience, if any, you may be qualified for appointment to Accountant Trainee 1 (NS-14), Accountant Trainee 2 (NS-16) or full-title Sr. Accountant G-18.

Note: 70.4 candidates must NOT have failed the PCAA exam.

Duties Description Standard Duties: Under the supervision of an Associate Accountant, the incumbent will perform accounting work requiring professional knowledge and application of accounting principles and procedures. Tasks assigned may include accounting transaction and revenue processing, federal grant reporting, cash management, reconciliations, budget and fiscal analysis. Assigned duties must be performed in a professional, timely and accurate manner. Use of the Comptroller’s Statewide Financial System may be required in performing daily activities.

Candidates must possess good organizational skills and have the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. This position does not require travel.
