Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have one year of permanent or contingent/permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c New York State service as a Social Work Assistant 3 or Social Work Assistant 3(Spanish Language); OR reachable for appointment from the Civil Service List; OR eligible for a 70.1 transfer.

Duties Description The Social Work Assistant 3 staff will be a member of the DDRO Region 4 Waiver Enrollment team. In order for most individuals to receive OPWDD services they must be enrolled in the Waiver. The DDRO receives thousands of Waiver applications per year. The responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
? This staff will review and process the completed Waiver applications
? Generate a Waiver Notice of Decision (NOD) and Service Authorization Letter for the individual/family
? Process enrollment paperwork for service requests
? Provide technical assistance and training to provider agencies for Waver billing and Medicaid issues

Additional Comments Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Social Work; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and one year of post-Bachelors experience in social work; OR a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a human service area and two years of post-Bachelors experience in social work.
