Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a lateral transfer or eligible for a 52.6 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive or 55.b/c service in an appropriate title.

Duties Description Working under the supervision of the Deputy Counsel for the Office of Legal Affairs' Bureau of Administrative and Management Support, the Senior Attorney's duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Review legislative concepts and draft legislative proposals.

• Coordinate with the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs in responding to inquiries regarding the agency's legislative proposals.

• Review and comment on legislative proposals submitted by other State agencies.

• Prepare comments on introduced bills and draft letters relating to legislation submitted for the Governor's signature.

• Draft and review proposed regulatory amendments and supporting documentation.

• Complete forms and documents required by the Department of State (DOS) for the promulgation of reglatory proposals.

• Submit the regulatory proposals to the DOS, and respond to inquiries it may have.

Coordinate with the Public Information Office (PIO) in responding to Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) and Personal Privacy Protection Law (PPPL) requests received by the agency:

• Coordinate FOIL and PPPL document collection with divisions throughout the agency.

• Review and finalize FOIL and PPPL responses.

• Conduct legal research on FOIL and PPPL issues and advise the General Counsel and other appropriate staff members of recent developments in the law.

• Provide assistance, as appropriate, in developing the agency's position regarding judicial proceedings relating to FOIL and PPPL matters.

• Assist in the development of FOIL and PPPL policies and procedures.

• Assist PIO in preparing the agency's annual PPPL report.

Additional Comments A full-time, permanent appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
