Minimum Qualifications PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Promotion: One year of permanent service as a Veterans Program Coordinator, Grade 23.
Open-Competitive: You must be a Veteran of the US Armed Services who served on active duty for over 180 days for purposes other than training (unless you were released from active duty due to a service connected disability), received a discharge other than dishonorable AND have a bachelor’s degree AND 5 years of full time experience in an employment and training organization or veteran service organization in a position primarily involved in providing employment, education, training, counseling and/or technical assistance services to veterans. Two years of this experience must have been at a supervisory level.
Substitution: A master’s degree may substitute for one year of the general experience
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: The Deputy Veterans Program Administrator coordinates and administers activities and programs servicing veterans. The incumbent will assist developing new programs and initiatives, enforce veteran-oriented program objectives as established by State and Federal regulations and serve as the principal agency contact with regard to review and analysis of State and Federal reports. The duties will also include veteran program staff training, monitoring staffing patterns and preparing federal staffing reports. The incumbent will be involved in activities to develop and maintain effective relationships with veteran organizations, potential employers and other governmental agencies involved with services to veterans.
