Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be reachable on the Office Assistant 3 eligible list or eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
To be eligible for a 70.1 transfer, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a grade 12 or higher.
Duties Description • Receives USPS First Class Mail and prepares for clerks. This involves ensuring postcom safely and timely brought from Loading Dock to Mailroom, then sorting and breaking down for distribution. Prepares daily assignment schedule. Deals with questions and problems from clerks and internal customers. Keeps staff aware of changes in rules and staff relocation.
• In the absence of Office Manager, works with clerks to ensure Direct Deposit advices are prepared for the week, including packing and preparation for distribution. Handles Agency phone calls, works on resolution with Payroll, if necessary.
• In the absence of the direct supervisor, works with clerks in Special Handling and Check Desk Units to resolve issues and deal with customer inquiries.
This is a working supervisor position.
