Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Welding skills preferred. Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Must have a valid Class B CDL within 6 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements. Must obtain a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 6 months of appointment. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
Duties Description Able to operate tractors, skidsteers, riding mowers, push mowers and weedeaters. Able to handle general landscaping tasks.
Perform semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical and masonry repairs and activities along with having basic automotive repair skills. Operate medium-duty trucks.
Additional Comments These are seasonal, hourly appointments. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to dates listed in duties description. Actual work schedule, duties, and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
