Minimum Qualifications EITHER 1) Reachable on the Civil Service eligible list (if you are on the eligible list for this title, you will automatically be canvassed for this position if your score is reachable for potential appointment); OR 2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 (Calculations) (Grade 9); OR 3) Eligible for transfer under the provisions of Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law by virtue of having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title.
Duties Description The job duties include but are not limited to the following:
-Process transfer-in requests.
-Answer telephone inquiries as well as review and process member, districtor retirement system correspondence relating to a member's service credit.
-Maintain control of the unit's workloads including members' records, newcorrespondence, annuity balances and deficit payments.
-Assist with various transfer-in/RIS duties including providing serviceinformation to members and/or school districts via the telephone and/orwritten correspondence.
-Serve as a backup for each function within the unit and perform necessaryfunctions as required within the Department.
-Performs other assigned tasks consistent with the Civil ServiceClassification Standards for the title.
-The position may also be deployed to other department units depending onwork priorities and/or the Member Relations Division's development/crosstraining plan.
