Minimum Qualifications Current New York State licensure as a nursing home administrator and two years of post-licensure experience as an administrator of a nursing home or health related facility of at least 100 beds and five additional years of experience as an administrator of a nursing home licensed by the New York State Department of Health.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong leadership skills, exceptional communicational skills and five years of administrative experience with at least two years as the administrator of record in a facility of comparable size and in good standing with the NYS Board of Nursing Home Examiners.
Duties Description The Administrator of the Veterans Home, under the general direction of the Director of the Health Facilities Management Group, will be responsible for all aspects of the facility’s operations. You would ensure that comprehensive medical care is provided to all residents of the facility. Duties include policy formulation, program development, providing leadership and direction in coordinating resident care services, monitoring and assuring compliance with all legislative, regulatory and Departmental requirements, training and development of staff, leading the development of the annual budget requirements and representing the facility in sensitive contacts and at public affairs
Additional Comments Salary commensurate with experience.
The New York State Veterans Home at Oxford, owned and operated by the NYS Department of Health, is located in Chenango County on a rural 60-acre site along the Chenango River. The state-of-the-art multi-floor 242 bed skilled nursing facility cares for eligible New York State veterans and their dependents providing long term care and short term rehabilitative care.
