Minimum Qualifications Per Civil Service Standards but particularly must have computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. Must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability handle multiple projects at one time. Must be able to communicate effectively. Working knowledge of SUNY Policies and Procedures and Banner System preferred. Must be able to adhere to strict confidentiality rules. Must be currently employed as a Secretary 1, be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service List or be eligible for a 70.1 transfer.
Duties Description According to Civil Service Standards but particularly the position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Education. The candidate must be able to organize and maintain the School of Education’s records and help with the filing systems. The candidate must be able to implement policies and procedures: maintain efficient work flow; resolve day-to-day operational problems; respond to phone calls; meet and greet students; sort mail; organize, expedite and follow up on projects and manage paper flow; time sheets for faculty and adjuncts; provide secretarial support for staff and faculty. Work with the Advising Counselor including scheduling appointments. Work collaboratively with faculty, adjuncts and staff. Must be a team player and adapt to other duties as assigned.
