Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be employed by New York State to be eligible to apply for this position.
Internal Reassignment: Candidates must be current Office of Mental Health employees with permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Mental Health Program Specialist 2 and interested in reassignment.
OR
Transfer: Candidates must be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 23 level. Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Mental Health Program Specialist 2, G-23 position in the Division of Adult Services, Bureau of Housing Development and Support. The incumbent of this position will perform a full range of program activities including an oversight role in monitoring residential programs and projects within an assigned region.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist in the administration of housing related programs and initiatives, which may include Supportive Housing; Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) pilots/programs; crisis respite programs; federal grant programs; etc.
• Provide project management for new residential development and/or renovation of existing residential programs as assigned.
• Collaborate with Field Office staff, Budget Services staff and other staff on the processing of Request for Proposals (RFP) for residential programs and support services.
• Coordinate Division of the Budget approval, execution of a contract and other required documents for capital projects.
• Coordinate payments to the provider for project related expenses.
• Participate in the implementation of Medicaid Managed Care and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) as they pertain to housing.
• Assist in the entering and tracking contract, budgetary, expenditure and/or project-related information into applicable systems.
