Minimum Qualifications To be considered for appointment, candidate must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for a transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. If a viable list does not exist, a provisional appointment may be made. If you are appointed provisionally, you will have to take and pass the next Civil Service examination. You must also be reachable on the resulting eligible list for that title or your employment in the position will end. In order to be considered for a provisional appointment you must have one year as an Office Assistant 2; or one year of permanent service in a clerical, keyboarding or paraprofessional title allocated to Grade 7 or higher.

Duties Description Basic responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
o Supervise an Office Assistant 2 who process voucher payments; provide training and prepare annual performance program for such staff
o Process Purchase orders for utilities that have been vouchered
o Process Purchase Orders from Departments and Residencies to ensure items are on State Contracts,
o Review and certify high volume of standard vouchers for payment to Office of the State Comptroller;
o Respond to audit request from Office of the State Comptroller
o Enter Transactions into NYSTEP and HRIS in a timely manner
o Enter Revenue deposits into Key Capture. Transfer report at end of month to Albany
o Process PO’s for Administration Department
o Correct any errors from Civil Service regarding NYSTEP with Payroll
o Responsibilities will include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations
