Minimum Qualifications Either 1) Reachable on the Civil Service eligible list (if you are on the eligible list for this title you will automatically be canvassed for this position if your score is reachable for potential employment) 2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having permanent competitive service as a Business Systems Analyst 2 (23); OR 3) Eligible for transfer under the provisions of sections 52.6,70.4 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by virtue of having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title.
Duties Description The duties include but are not limited to the following: the Business
Systems Analyst 2 will be responsible for planning and leading
requirements gathering activities for the ITSM Support Team for
implementation of various ServiceNow applications. The incumbent
will be expected to represent project stakeholders throughout
planning, development, and release processes. Activities include
documenting as-is/to-be and creation of flows (traditional and crossfunctional)
or models according to NYSTRS standards and recognized
business analysis methodologies. The incumbent will be expected to
translate technical complexities to stakeholders, ensuring thorough
understanding of design decisions, while working to ensure
requirements are understood, developed, tested, and delivered to
specification. The incumbent may supervise lower level staff and
experts.
Additional Comments . IIBA or PMI-PBA certification
· Significant experience with requirements gathering, documentation and management, specifically creating business
ID: 1898 Page 1 of 2 and functional requirements and specifications and requirements traceability matrices.
· Experience in information technology methodologies including
working with developers, operational staff, service desk staff, and
business users.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
· The ability to develop and forge strong relationships and build
consensus among competing stakeholders
· Experience working on large scale multi-year projects using a
formal project management approach
· Experience with working on projects utilizing Waterfall and Agile
Project Management methodologies during large scale enterprise
projects
· Experience and proficiency in facilitating meetings and interviews
with end users at all levels of an organization
· Experience communicating in a professional manner with
Executive Management
· Experience with Microsoft Visio creating business process flows
and cross-functional flowcharts
· Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio
and Microsoft Project effectively and efficiently
· Experience with Adobe software, SnagIT, WebEx, Biscom SFT
· Knowledge in ITIL v3 standards, cloud concepts and architecture
· Experience creating training content including documentation
and videos
· (3) Years of experience performing administration or
development of the ServiceNow platform
· Self-starter, motivated, and able to work independently
· Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
