Minimum Qualifications Reachable for appointment from the appropriate Civil Service list for this title – appointment made at the Training Specialist Traineeship level.
OR One year of permanent competitive service as a Training Specialist 1?
OR Eligible for transfer pursuant to Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law?
OR One year of permanent competitive service as an Assistant Training Technician (YS) eligible for a Training Specialist Trainee 2 appointment.
OR Eligible for Section 70.4 Transfer. * *70.4 Transfer: If you are a State employee with at least one year of permanent competitive service in a title Grade 11 or higher and have a passing score on the PCT, PATT or the PMI lists, you may be eligible for appointment to a traineeship leading to the Grade 18.

Duties Description Participate with agency staff, and/or other NYS agencies in conducting training needs assessments.

Collaborate with agency staff, and/or other NYS agencies to develop training project specifications.

Develop training curricula for agency staff.

Easily adapt to the frequent changes and shifting priorities of a fast-paced call center environment.

Conduct training sessions using a variety of medical, including classroom training, distance learning, and/or technology based training. Prepare or modify curriculum and course outlines, arrange for all necessary course materials, devise methods and conduct evaluations of the performance and progress of learners.

Collaborate with agency staff and/or other NYS agencies to revise existing programs and monitor implementation.

Independently analyze research and make clear recommendations for various training programs and provide technical assistance.

Additional duties will be discussed during the interview.

Additional Comments Note: For appointments made at the Training Specialist Trainee 1 level, advancement to the training Specialist 1 is automatic upon successful completion of a two-year traineeship.
