One year of permanent competitive service as a Children and Family Services Manager 1 or Eligible for a 52.6 transfer.
Provisional Opportunity
One year of permanent competitive service as a G-21 or higher level title in OCFS.
Duties Description Assist the Deputy Commissioner in implementing Agency and DJJOY goals, systems, policies and procedures which produce outcomes in the support of the agency’s mission and priorities.
Serve as the liaison between DJJOY and the Office of Legal Affairs, Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Development (SPPD), Division of the Budget (including Contract Services), Office of The Ombudsman, Division of Child Welfare, Division of Early Childhood Education, Office of Human Resources (including the Bureau of Staff Development and Training), Office of Information Technology, Governor’s Office, and others assuring communication and collaboration in support of agency’s mission and priorities.
Serve on statewide administrative committees and interagency work groups on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner.
Collaborate with DJJOY Associate Commissioners, Facilities Managers, Area Managers and Bureau/Unit Heads and address requests of the Governor’s Office and other stake holders to ensure state regulations, agency policies and procedures are being implemented in a timely manner and followed appropriately.
Coordinate meetings and/or OCFS site visits requested by, but not limited to, OCFS, the Governor’s Office and the Division of the budget.

Seeking a candidate that has excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to develop presentations, gather data and respond to external inquires for the Deputy Commissioner. Function as an independent thinker and decision maker with proficiency in multi-tasking.
Possess knowledge of NYS Juvenile Justice system.
