Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of communications experience preferred. Web editing experience with a content management system. Basic HTML skills. Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Software. Strong writing and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to communicate and provide status updates to senior leadership. Experience with the use of social media platforms for professional use, including HootSuite, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.
Duties Description The incumbent will work closely with the Department’s communications team to provide critical support to various agency programs and initiatives, focusing primarily on updating and managing of agency websites and social media channels. The Project Assistant will play an integral role in the Public Information Office and will transform the agency’s online digital footprint to align with statewide web standards and improve accessibility of information to the public. The incumbent will perform the following activities but are not limited, to:
Collaborating with agency programs to understand and assess online needs.
Developing a website content strategy for the transition and management of all online information.
Working with the State's Information Technology Services (ITS) office to specify and apply the appropriate online tools for the implementation of a new internal and external website.
Transitioning the agency's web content to a new public website, including importing and publishing data.
Training and educate program staff to write content for the web.
Developing, editing, and updating the agency's public website and intranet.
Monitoring Google Analytics to follow web traffic, assess content effectiveness and user needs.
Creating marketing materials for agency programs and initiatives.
