Minimum Qualifications Permanent Qualifications: Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.

Transfer Qualifications: Candidates must currently be a permanent Licensed Practical Nurse.

Duties Description The LPN is needed to provide care within the scope of practice for an LPN. Under the supervision of a RN they will provide acute care to individuals attending The Amenia Program Center. Individuals at the Amenia Program Center require hands on nursing interventions which cannot be delegated to unlicensed nursing personnel.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
•Provides first aid to individuals and monitors vital signs as needed, reporting findings to the RN
•Ensures that all documentation such as monthly MARs, consents, Current Scripts and the Ready to Go, is accurate and available.
•Monitoring / supervising insulin administration, administering influenza vaccines, along with PO daily medication / treatments
•Maintains tickler for OTC expiration dates and OTC standing orders for the individuals
•Responsible for purchasing and organizing med room supplies
•Other duties as assigned

Additional Comments NOTE: You must have a valid driver’s license to apply as travel is a part of the duties involved in this position. This may include a state-owned vehicle, as available, or the employee’s own car. An employee who uses his/her own car will be reimbursed at current negotiated rates.
