Duties Description The incumbent will provide support to NYSDOT’s Office of Audit primarily working with the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification unit. The preferred candidate will be expected to perform complicated clerical and office support activities that will require knowledge of the DBE certification programs governing laws, rules, or regulations. The preferred candidate will also be expected to handle sensitive applications, requests, or inquiries.
Typical duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Gather, compile, duplicate, scan and/or prepare data from manual or automated files and other sources for various reports, publications, records, or other external or internal communications. Related activities include generating reports, accessing government databases, obtain or provide certification related information, researching applicable rules, etc.
• Review, enter and upload information utilizing our web based certification software.
• Receive, review, assign or process forms and applications related to DBE certification and make/issue appropriate determinations.
• Serve a customer service role by responding to technical questions or requests related to DBE certification matters via mail, email and/or telephone.
• Perform various data entry and update functions in various systems that support the Contract Audit, Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management Bureaus.
• Process and log all incoming and outgoing correspondence. Coordinate arrangements for meetings, courses, and other gatherings, arrange for rooms, take attendance, and ensure that appropriate materials and equipment are available.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
