Duties Description The Supervisor of Administrative Analysis evaluates policies, procedures, and systems, and develops recommendations to promote the effective and efficient operation of a variety of testing programs. In addition, the Supervisor of Administrative Analysis oversees and assists with the development and implementation of testing systems; forms design and usage control; and the development of State and local civil service tests. The Supervisor of Administrative Analysis oversees the planning, preparation, and evaluation of tests that use a variety of formats, including multiple-choice, evaluation of training and experience, job simulation exercise, essay/constructed response, performance, and others. The Supervisor of Administrative Analysis may serve on intra- and inter-divisional committees, and oversee special projects as needed. Illustrative duties of the position are provided below:
• Develop and oversee the development of online tests and questionnaires using Cold Fusion
• Develop and oversee the development of scoring algorithms for online tests and questionnaires (e.g. Selective Certification)
• Oversee Test Item Data Bank (TIDB) support for staff in the Testing Services Division
• Serve as the TIDB System liaison between various Civil Service Divisions and ITS
• Oversee the analysis of test results and preparation of scoring recommendations
• Communicate with others within and outside of the agency on testing matters
The current vacancy is located in the Testing Systems and Support Group, Section TC2-2, which develops examinations for positions in State and Local Information Technology, Computer and PC Operations, Real Property Tax Services, Personnel and Employee Benefits, Public Safety Dispatching, Staff Development and Training/Education, Business Systems Analysis, and Project Management.
Preferred Qualifications: Background and/or experience in computer science, computer programming, and mathematics. Strong logical reasoning and data analysis skills. Close attention to detail.
