Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employees with one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as a Human Resources Specialist 2 and eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; OR one year of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a title allocated to a SG-21 or above and eligible for transfer under section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform a variety of duties in support of human resources administration for the Office of General Services and Host Agencies. The incumbent will serve as primary liaison for assigned program areas, serving as a supervisor for a small unit within the Personnel Services Unit which includes responsibility for supervising, mentoring and coaching staff (including HR Specialist Trainees) as well as performing a wide range of classification and recruitment activities in accordance with Civil Service Law, Rules and Regulations, policies, and procedures. Duties include: researching, planning, and preparing classification requests and personnel transactions, participating in examination planning and development activities, providing guidance and assistance to program staff regarding appointment, promotion, transfer, status or salary of employees, hold and direct meetings on a regular basis which includes preparing meeting agendas as well as gathering any necessary information within assigned areas of responsibility. Prepare routine correspondence and reports and carry out full supervisory responsibilities.
