Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service List or be a New York State Employee eligible for transfer under section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. To be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is seeking to fill a Secretary 2 position to provide administrative support to the Deputy Commissioner of Service Delivery-Regional Offices.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Responsible for handling phone calls, providing phone coverage and responding to stakeholder concerns
• Responsible for coordinating mail and other correspondences on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Service Delivery, Regional Offices
• Manage outlook calendar for Deputy Commissioner including scheduling meetings and planning meetings and other events as needed
• Prepare documentation utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and organizational charts.
• Manage and maintain filing systems, both electronic and hard copy
• Communicate and work collaboratively with the other OPWDD divisions and the Regional Offices across the State.
• Assist in the management of the Regional Offices e-mail correspondence.
• Prepare travel in Statewide Financial System
• Assist Deputy Commissioner in ensuring timely follow up on various Regional Office issues
• Prepare or assist in creating reports for division, as needed.
• Miscellaneous administrative and clerical assignments as necessary.
